Combines

The problem with combines seems to be that no matter what you do ; it was the wrong choice -- that is of course you're Calvin Johnson.

Poz seemed to have his stock drop a bit at the combines after an unimpressive bench press, a sluggish 40 time, and not the best vertical leap. Nowthe question is of course this; how much does this hurt him?

Do people realize that these are just benchmarks and it doesn't matter how fast your 40 time is if you can't learn the defensive schemes. That it doesn't matter how much you can bench if you can't tackle. That it doesn't matter how agile you are , if you can't make the correct reads -- etc etc?

Where does Shaw wind up in all of this. He clearly went nuts in the combines and impressed people like no other.

How does this reflect upon the conditioning and practice schemes of Penn State Football? What are we doing right? What are we doing wrong?
