Nashville Bound

OK, First off - I think we need a Forum for Travel .. BUK can you work on that?

Since there was no match up for my post, I thought I'd just hit up the closest topic to my quest for information ..

PoppaBUK & I are headed off for a long weekend in Nashville in August.  Have wanted to go there for ages, and last night just said the hell with it - booked the airfare and a room at the Embassy Suites in the Music Row area of town.  I happen to like ES - breakfast cooked to order in the a.m. to read the local paper and decide on the plan for the day and a nice happy hour before dinner to wind down and relax after sight-seeing.  Both of those "freebies" are great!  Instead of plunking down the $ to eat breakast in a restaurant (if I am not intentionally going to a specific restaurant to try out something special) and/or give them some additional change for overpriced drinks in the hotel lounge, it makes absolute sense to save the coin and use it for a great evening meal.  I don't consider it traveling on the cheap - I think of it more as traveling smarter and getting an awesome room rate !

I know that alot of you travel alot, and am hoping for a few suggestions similar to Fenne's request for good places in Charleston.  I know that several of you really know a good meal, and we're looking for good steak joints and/or ribs/southern cooking.

So, please share some good places with me - and warn off places to stay away from.  Also - any good suggestions for later in the evening for drinks and/or shows.  We can't order tix for the Grand Ole' Opry show until they line up the entertainment for that night - but we will be there 3 nights and are open to suggestions for the other 2.

Thanks a bunch y'all !
