Sherlock Holmes (2010 Version)

I say 2010 version since there have been a TON of versions of Doyle's infamous detective.
Just scooped up Sherlock Holmes from Redbox last night. Robert Downey Jr. was very good. I'm starting to really like his roles. They're randomly funny but serious too.
Anyway, I hate Jude Law but he was at least tolerable in this. And LOVE Rachel McAdams. She's hawt hawt hawt to me.
The actual flick was very entertaining. Lots of action which isn't something you'd typically expect out of a Sherlock Holmes tale. I think you have to realize going into watching it that it's not based on any of the novels in the slightest bit. I always think of Holmes as a deductive reasoner with no physical action involved. Ritchie's Holmes is a badass (it's basically Iron Man w/o all the technology?).
Either way, REALLY good movie, in my opinion. Worth a watch for sure - would've been pretty cool in the theaters too with some of the effects, i think. (and the nude backside of McAdams amplified).
Anyone else see it? Thoughts?
And furthermore, I've never read the novels. Just did some quick research and see that there are 4 full-fledged novels and a bunch of short stories. Are they worth reading? I've never tackled any of them but my interests are piqued a bit now.
