NFL Free Agency Moves - 2010

First Note - Sean, I actually looked to see if there was already a free agency thread.  There was and it was called "NFL Free Agency Moves - 2009."  So, I had to create a new, appropriately named thread.  I guess we had been talking about this years free agents in the inappropriate places, like the draft thread.

So, it all starts at midnight tonight.  Any thoughts on whom goes where? Here are some of my thoughts (from an Eagle-centric viewpoint).

Big names that I don't think will be going to the Eagles:

- Julius Peppers.  He's 30, has a questionable work ethic, and will command top dollar.  Based on that, I expect him to go to the Redskins.

- Darren Sproles.  I think the Eagles will be interested, but I don't think they'll overpay... and someone else surely will.

- Thomas Jones.  I simply can't see the Eagles bringing in an over 30 RB with any kind of sizeable contract.  I only see him going to the Eagles if there is just no market for him and his price becomes VERY reasonable.

Big names that I think the Eagles could definitely end up with:

- Aaron Kampman - Yeah, he's a 30 year old DE like Peppers, but with far fewer sacks.  However, he should be much more affordable.  He's also known for his work ethic and non-stop motor.  Those guys tend to decline more gracefully than gifted athletes that don't work hard (see Kearse, Javon).  He is coming off of an ACL injury which is both bad and good - bad = riskier, good = cheaper.

- Chester Taylor - The Eagles need depth at RB.  I think Taylor can be had for a reasonable price.  He's been durable and productive.  He already knows the Eagles offense, so it would be a very smooth transition.

Guys that could be returning to the nest for league minimum to compete for a roster spot:

- Hank Fraley - The Eagles have a hole at Center with Jackson's injury.  Fraley could come in and compete with Nick Cole and Mike McGlynn for a spot.

- Roderick Hood - We ended the season pretty damn thin at CB.  Hobbs wasn't very good in coverage before his injury (but gave you a kick returner).  Hanson suddenly looked awful after he returned from his suspension for a using a performance enhancing drug masking agent.  (Interesting coincidence, isn't it?)  Hood is only 28 and was a pretty good nickel corner for the Eagles just a couple of years ago. It wouldn't hurt to bring in to see if he's got anything left in the tank.
