Health care
Some on here are complaining about Obama wanting to "fix" health care in the US. Others are defending it. We still don't have specifics on what Obama envisions. I want to hear what y'all would like to change. I'll go first.
I want a gov't run program that is designed to just cover people that are not already covered private insurance (not competing). Currently, I believe, that companies with over 50 (?) employees are required to provide insurance. My idea would be to offer "government insurance" to employees of small companies, with premiums similar to comparable private plans. Their employers would be required to pay in as well, on a sliding scale based on size of the company.
Tennessee is already doing something similar (TennCare), using their medicaid funding. Self employed people can pay premiums based on their income and they are covered by TennCare.
