Is this the weekend

Is this the weekend that Joe's loyalty costs the team a win? Is this the week, that the wheels come off the wagon and things go to hell in a hand basket? Is this the weekend that Joe goes 1970s offense and runs it up the middle on 4th and goal with a Shuhey...

So far this season every prediction and fear us pessimists had held - have not come to pass. There were assumptions that Clark would not be ready, that Joe would handcuff him, that he wouldn't get a big playbook to work with, that the play selection would be predictable , that the "fancy stuff" would be an end-around with D.Wheels

So far so good, it has been a pleasant shock , but PSU has yet to play a top 10 team on the road in a tough environment this year...

But, despite all of the good - it hasn't been all Yuengling and Scrapple -- there has been some bad....and like always it comes down to personnel issues...

Last year, Joe refused to take responsibility and kept playing Morelli out of some stupid promise he made Greg - or because of his own arrogance -- or just to spite the fan base....whatever the case it's happening again.

There are TWO players on this defense that should not be starting....and it pains me to say who one of them is because they are one of my favorite grinders.

Josh Hull and Mark Rubin, both need to sit at home...and not even make the trip. Hull is slow, plodding , thick calved , and can not play with the agression an inside linebacker needs to play with. He gets lost in the shuffle and players run over him...

When he's asked to play in a 4-3 zone he gets lost and gets exposed....and when he tries to blitz it's laughable.

Rubin, he should not be playing Safety. Yes, he was the #1 WR in the Zach Mills senior year - he was like the big fish in the small pond. He was looking good amungst the bad, but now is not the time.

In the 4-3 base package where the corners are playing man and the safetys are in zone, he misses assignments - loses track of his man - and just takes bad angles...

Last week , moves were made and we've seen more of Astirino , Mauti , and other potential stars -- but now is not the time to start Rubin & Hull and wait for mistakes....

If it happens, you'll see Pryor rip them two apart on the zone read.....So ask yourself, is this the weekend Joe acts like Joe and costs this team a win and a national title...

Next time we'll look into how Joe being Joe has cost this team potential first place vote(s) , and a shot at the national title even if they do go undefeated
